You Can Grow Tomato Sauce!
Grow tomato sauce right in your garden? Well, actually, I grow sauce tomatoes and convert them to fresh roasted puree.
Can you just imagine the homegrown freshness of a garden tomato, ready for creating your favorite dishes and available year 'round right in your freezer?
Spagetti, Pizza, Tomato Soup...it's really fun and easy...
My name is Robin Wyll. I am not a professional gardener or gourmet chef. I'm just somebody whose passion is homegrown food.
I've always included tomato plants in my garden, however a number of years ago, I ran across a recipe for creating tomato puree with the excess, cracked or bruised tomatoes. When I tried it, I found it so simple and the flavor so good that I wondered what it would be like made with tomatoes that are specifically designed for sauce-making. The resulting flavor was amazing and I decided to see just how much sauce I could grow.
Since that time, growing sauce has become a fun family garden project. The purpose of this website is to share what we've learned over the years and inspire others to give it a try.
This site will guide you each step of the way -- wherever you wish to begin your journey.
